When I studied the name Bethany, I quickly discovered its profound significance in biblical history. The name Bethany translates to the phrase “house of figs,” which is rich with symbolism! In ancient Israel, fig trees were a sign of prosperity, peace, and divine blessing. They provided nourishment and shade, making them essential to daily life and a metaphor for spiritual abundance. The name “Bethany” (from the Hebrew Beit-Te’enah) suggests a place of sustenance and sweetness, where both body and soul could be refreshed. Bethany is also a village nestled on the southeastern slope of the Mount of Olives, and was known to be a serene sanctuary for Jesus and His disciples, offering rest and refuge during their journeys. Notably, Bethany was the home of siblings Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, where Jesus performed the miraculous act of raising Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44). It was also here that Mary anointed Jesus’ feet with fragrant perfume, exemplifying deep devotion and worship (John 12:1-3).
In the spirit of this sacred place, this retreat aspires to be a modern-day “Bethany”—a haven where anyone can come to pause, reflect, and experience spiritual renewal. As your host, I am dedicated to creating an environment that fosters deep communion with God. I have spent over four years working with a licensed MFT to receive Immanuel Prayer, which has brought me peace and divine guidance, especially during my pregnancy. I have also worked with Carri Taylor, a blended family specialist, and have gained valuable tools to help couples communicate more effectively. These experiences have deepened my own connection with God and my ability to lead others into His presence.
As God has gifted me with premonition and healing, I have been blessed to receive insights from the Holy Spirit and see things before they unfold. I want to bring this gift to the retreat, to pour into each of you as you seek rest, healing, and divine direction.
This retreat is designed to help you step away from the noise of daily life and encounter the gentle, transformative presence of God. I will offer opportunities for Immanuel Prayer, stillness, personal reflection, and communion with God. You will leave feeling re-centered, spiritually refreshed, and with a renewed sense of purpose and peace.
I am so honored to guide you on this journey, and I look forward to witnessing the healing and peace that God has in store for you.
